Book: The Secret Principles of Genius

In I C Robledo’s book, The Secret Principles of Genius”, I resonated with the author’s definition of genius: “[Genius] is a journey to greatness. It is the aspiration and relentless pursuit of something greater than what you are at the present moment.” I am a believer that each and every one of us has a genius potential that we can tap into once we uncover it. However, the main question that we all ask ourselves is: “How do I unlock my hidden genius potential?” 

This book explores 29 principles from the brightest minds in our history. This includes Albert Einstein, Steve Jobs, Bobby Fischer, Leonardo Da Vinci, and more! The unique aspect of this book is how these principles have been presented in an optimized structure so that you can practically apply them in your journey. For each principle, the author provides a quote, description, benefits, how to apply and geniuses who used the principles. He grouped these principles into categories, such as personal qualities, learning, strategies for thinking and problem solving.

Even though I love all the principles listed in this book, there are a few key ones that I want to apply in my journey, such as pursuing experiences that offer the greatest learning. In the past, I was not willing to go for great learning experiences as I feared there would be a proportional high risk factor included (and I am a low risk lady!). However, thanks to this book, I want to select paths that offer immense learning so that I can grow exponentially and awaken my inner genius.

The principle of brilliant minds embraces their uniqueness is a classic reminder that I always need. For the longest time, I tried to fit into the social or workplace conventions as I feared to be different. However, I recently stopped placing importance on these conventions as I now realize that I have many unique aspects to offer, and that I love my authentic self!
