Birthday Reflections 2025: Quiet but Powerful Year
Today, I celebrate another year around the sun, which has been a quiet but powerful period for me.
This past year has been a journey across outer cultures and inner landscapes. My travels took me to Japan, a place that captured my heart in ways I didn’t expect. I fell in love with everything, such as the serenity of its temples and Mount Fuji, the precision of its art (especially in origami), and the simplicity of its everyday life. It was as though every corner whispered balance and beauty.
Then came a month in India for a pilgrimage to dive deep within myself. I meditated beneath the sacred Bodhi Tree at Mahabodhi Temple, received ayurvedic treatments that nourished the body, and prayed in stillness at an ashram. Those magnificent moments connected me to a profound peace that I will always cherish.
Returning to Canada, I spent months writing, where I poured my heart into several stories. These projects allowed me to use words as a bridge to express my inner evolution.
On the physical front, I continued my love for yoga. What began as a ritual quickly became a moving meditation that strengthens, humbles, and heals. Truly, a game changer for me.
Of course, there had been many fun memories! I was part of the Family Feud Canada audience (and trust me, the behind-the-scenes fun is even better than the show), and I attended local museums and festivals (I met Bollywood celebrities at TIFF!). I also spent days with loved ones, knowing that they make my life better in multiple ways. I even got a chance to be in the presence of a few enlightened masters to absorb their wisdom. And during downtime, I escaped into romantic comedies via books and movies, as a gentle reminder that laughter and love, in all its forms, keeps the world magical.
This past year has became a teacher for me in unexpected ways. I learned that a simple life, where small joys are noticed, savoured, and celebrated, is incredible. I discovered new things, like self-publishing my books, that can be deeply fulfilling. And most importantly, I realized that divine miracles are everywhere, waiting to be embraced by those open to them.
As I stand on the threshold of a new birthday year, I want to thank you all for everything you have done for me - I am eternally grateful. I hope the coming year brings abundant blessings, meaningful connections, and more. Here’s to another year of growth, grace, and bliss. And happy Halloween!
